Everything We Know About The New Epic Universe Fireworks Show, Still Unannounced

Many steps are being taken now to add a new fireworks display to the Universal Epic Universe, although the company has not officially announced such a project. With a job listing just posted for new fireworks artists, a new launch pad being built at the back of the park, and work now underway at the Epic Universe fountains, it’s clear they’re gearing up to launch a new show.

Let’s review everything we think we know so far about this new night show for the new park, including what it might be called and what we can learn from public approvals, in today’s news update.

When Epic Universe officially opened in May last year it didn’t start with a fireworks display. There were fireworks to mark the opening, but only for the media the day before the park officially opened.

Since then we have only seen special fireworks displays on July 4th and New Year’s Eve. For those presentations, the temporary launch announcements were trashed. But things are about to change as preparations are made for permanent launch sites.

Shortly after last year’s grand opening, Seth Kubersky spoke with Universal Orlando entertainment executives. In an interview, published in Orlando Weekly, Anitra Pritchard, senior director of programming at Epic Universe had the following to say about the fireworks in the park: “We are looking [fireworks]; we are working on it.”

It slowed down a few months later, and construction of permanent launch equipment began.

Fireworks Start Passes

Located at the back of the park, on the other side of the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a launch pad is being built in the middle of a large pool of water.

It took a few more months, but now we can see a concrete strip at the end of the peninsula in the middle of the dam, with a road leading into it from the shore.

On the beach, what appears to be a control booth with a window has been installed. This small bunker has a window facing the launch pad, perfect for shooting a pyro away.

Two more of these prefabricated control cabins have also arrived at the site, but have yet to go in. Permits say they will be on the sides of the park, above the buildings in Dark Universe and Wizarding World.

A few special temporary fireworks that we have seen so far have included fireworks in the center, behind the park, as well as on the sides, near these two countries, so these control booths seem to be going to new starting points forever for the second pyro.

Now hiring: Firefighters

Universal Orlando this month put out a call for new jobs that could involve permanent fireworks displays at Epic Universe.

According to the job listing, which was first found by YoBentley on social media, they are looking for two technologies for fireworks and pyro in Epic Universe, as seen in the picture below.

Job requirements describe one of the positions as assisting in the operation, maintenance and maintenance of fire extinguishers and equipment.

New Name of the Night Show

A trademark application has been filed for a name and logo for what could be a new late-night show at Epic Universe.

Trademark application for new emerging name, US Patent & Trademark Office

Filed back in December last year, the trademark application included the logo in addition to the name itself.

The “Universal Celestial Goodnight” trademark was filed for use in “entertainment services of the amusement park type.”

Universal is a trademark registered by the US Patent and Trademark Office

Surprisingly, this logo has only been seen publicly once before. The YouTube channel showing the music demo for Epic Universe by artist Johnny J. Johnston seems to be using a colorful image of the logo as its main channel symbol—although they don’t pay attention to the channel itself.

As with all information for the late night show, we have no confirmation that this name and logo is actually the official name of the fictional show.

Fountains and Lighting Improvements

The current nighttime program for Epic Universe consists of an organized display of interconnected fountains and colorful lights throughout Celestial Park, the central area of the park.

However, at the moment, the main set of fountains, known as the Cosmos Fountain, is undergoing maintenance and is not part of the current nightly program.

On top of that, many of the LED floor lamps are being recycled.

All the work on the fountain and the lights, however, is said to be related to the preparation of this possible new exhibition. It is expected that the wells will be renewed in time for the new show to begin.

We actually saw testing happen with the new animated projections in the fountains for the first time back in December. These types of effects are currently not used during public demonstrations.

What appeared to be a phoenix from Harry Potter flapping its wings could be seen being launched into the fountains, which can be seen in the video below taken from the Helios hotel room.

When Will The New Show Start?

Without an official announcement, it is difficult to predict when the new program will start, but we can guess based on what the witness did last year.

One of the two days we saw fireworks at all in 2025 was the Fourth of July, so it makes sense that the park would want to get the new fireworks ready in time for this year.

It likely means that any repair work on the Cosmos Fountain should also be completed by then, very soon. (I hope the springs come back soon.)

Maybe we’ll see a regular fireworks display for the Epic Universe debut after its annual July 4th launch? Or maybe, just maybe, it could start even sooner, like during the summer season?

In the meantime, stay tuned to Park Stop for the latest Epic Universe news and check out our latest story for more details on the park’s expansion, including a massive new 150,000 square foot attraction coming to Wizarding World.

Many thanks to Bioreconstruct for all the aerial photographs seen in this story. You can follow him on social media and YouTube for amazing park photography.
