Dolly Parton has never been a slouch, and Christmas is no time to start. This year, we’re writing a note from the artist of the unloved decoration.
The icon himself shared his idea of a Christmas tree in an Instagram post last year wishing fans a happy holiday from his charming, country-style home in Brentwood, Tennessee. It has a silver, gold and green color scheme, and every part is covered in the beauty of the season. Red ribbon (like this one from Amazon) decorates the tree and stretches across the piano. From the many ornaments atop the tree to the giant star above, to the garlands draped over the mantel, every inch is an ode to Christmas.

Josh explains: ‘We’re going even bigger with festive decorations this year. A lot of trimmings will be used for a strong statement, adding to the party’s excitement and drama. Eye-catching pieces will include big bows – and lots of them, in keeping with this year’s trends – and big baubles for show-stopping effect.’

Waterreem Clear Christmas String Lights
No white Christmas tree is complete without lights. These simple white string lights provide the perfect base, giving your tree a soft, even glow. Take the time to carefully weave them into the branches, tucking them in so they are not just above the water. This way, the tree looks full and beautiful even when the lights are off.
Champagne Christmas Ball Decorations
These beautiful gold and clear ornaments are the perfect complement to the red on the Christmas tree. They would be great covered in a combination of oversized ornaments.
Velvet Double Loop Bow Christmas Tree Topper
As cute as they are today in Dolly Parton’s home, red bows are one of the few trends that have stuck around through the years. This red bow takes this trend to the next level. It’s designed to sit on your tree instead of a star or an angel, and we think it’s a great twist on a classic.
Norfolk Pine Garland With Red Bows
This green wreath has a flexible wire frame decorated with faux Norfolk pine leaves and is accented with red laced bows for an elegant and festive look.

This set of four red and white spiral taper candles creates a candy look without being over-the-top. Made from high-quality kerosene with pure cotton fibers and efficient dyes, they burn cleanly and keep your home free of unwanted odors.
What is the reason for this bigger and stronger change? Not only is it amazing, but it also taps into this year’s desire to bring joy and light to our holiday destinations. Inspired by nostalgia, the 2025 decor embodies the desire to capture the joy of celebrating Christmas as a child.
Josh says: ‘Extraordinary decorations draw attention and can be the most important details in a home. This theme follows the similar additions of other festive styles to bring joy with a unique yet elegant aesthetic.’
While minimalism has its time and place, Dolly Parton’s tree shows that Christmas isn’t either. As our decor gets more elaborate, so does the holiday cheer. This Christmas, we’re giving you ideas on how you can make your holiday display more sophisticated than you ever imagined.
