Jake Paul Says He’s Contacting Makeup Artists for Response to Druski’s ‘Conservative’ Woman Skit

Jake Paul says he’s contacting makeup artists to film a response to Druski’s viral skit parodying “conservative women in America.”

The 29-year-old news producer turned proboxer commented on the latest episode of This Past Weekend with Theo Von. Around the 10-minute mark in the video linked here, the two discussed a skit, which featured Druski in white and what appeared to be a modest woman like Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk.

“To be honest, it’s amazing. I loved it,” Paul admitted. “Obviously it’s the Republicans and all the Republicans who are mad about this s**t is like af**kingL for the Republicans because this is f**kinghilarious. And even though it’s f**kinghilarious and twisted, this is what comedy f**kings – that we’re f**king people

However, the discussion took a turn when Paul suggested that his response might be in the works.

“I want to ask you something because I have been, for the last few days, calling the makeup artists and I was going to give an answer to this. [Druski’s video] and like to go and do as the full goes on,” Paul said.

“Dark?” Von asked, and Paul answered in the affirmative.

And do it and give it back, why not? Paul said. “So, are we on the same field?”

Paul then turned down Von’s offer to collaborate with another Black artist, such as Charles Barkley, to provide support for a fictional Black character being parodied.

“That’s soothing,” Paul insisted. “Doesn’t that make us more biased? … That makes us [prejudiced]if we have to share with someone. Duski just left this. ”

He continued, “We should fuck each other. And I don’t see colors, I see truth and humor. So, what are we talking about? What time do we live in?”

Elsewhere on the podcast, they compared the planned skit to past black-tie events involving the likes of Justin Trudeau and Jimmy Kimmel. Trudeau and Kimmel have both issued apologies.

“Look at f**kingJimmy Kimmel on the left. Nothing,” Paul said of Kimmel’s political leanings. “What’s going on, bro? Why? How can they get rid of this shit?”

It’s like kids can’t be Black for Halloween, okay,” Von said. Like, the kid is his favorite athlete.

“Yeah, and he wants to be LeBron [on] Halloween,” answered Paul.

As explained by Clare Corbould, Associate Professor of History at Deakin University, Druski’s reaction to the “whiteface” parody of white women who hold on ignores the power differential. Blackface minstrelsy, which emerged in the 1830s when slavery was beginning to disappear, slips as a form of mass entertainment aimed at demeaning Black people, while whiteface beats up the power of criticism, privilege and privilege.

Although critics call it “reversing racism,” Corbould says whiteface humor exposes whiteness as an artificial social construct rather than a natural state.

Corbould also said the allegations of racism against Druski create a false analogy and show that many white people “still refuse to laugh.”

Jake Paul did not give a timeline of when he would record and release the skit, or who he would parody.

Druski’s skit sparked controversy over her character’s resemblance to Erika Kirk, although she did not specifically name her. The status of the video reached the White House, where President Donald Trump appeared to suggest that Kirk “should impeach” the producer.
